USTP Trailblazers Participate in BootCamp Training
Twenty-one zealous trailblazers participated in the BootCamp Training organized by the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) in partnership with Akadasia last December 14-18, 2020. The training included pedagogy and actual hands-on technical training directed towards assisting teachers as they transition towards the new normal way of teaching.
The Bootcamp themed “Building Outcomes Based Online Teaching Competencies Towards Advancement, Mastery and Productivity” is a series of capacity-building trainings for faculty members of state universities and colleges that is geared towards learning the various basic and advanced skills in facilitating engaging and more meaningful online classes.
YEARN Accomplishments 2020
The YEARNing for excellence in innovative teaching and learning has come into its fruition as multitudes of seminars, webinars and trainings both in-campus and out-campus were provided for all faculty members (part-time, and regular) from January-December 2020.
Although USTP, and everyone else, have had it rough and challenging, it never stopped moving forward giving quality teaching and service to its clientele. The various programs and services were pursued with more fervor than ever and innovative strategies were put in place in time for the modification of learning from face-to-face to Flexible Learning
Design Thinking for Classroom Instruction NSTP CDO Campus
The College of Science and Mathematics entered and joined the room for Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) when they took part in the training for CQI: developing a plan for CSM last December 7, 2020 via Zoom. Forty-eight brilliant and devoted CSM faculty members created their program-specific CQI plans.

USTP Visits Magsaysay College : Collaboration on the Way
USTP Delegates, headed by Dr. Amphie Dinagsao, Director of the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CiTL); Dr. Ismael Talili, Director of Research, USTP Cagayan de Oro; Dr. Greg Cubio, Director of Research and Innovation Centers; Dr. Maria Teresa Fajardo, Director for Extension and Community Relations, USTP CDO, and Architect Mikhail Vince Janubas of the Infrastructure Planning and Facilities Development Office (IPFDO), visited the municipality of Magsaysay and Magsaysay College last November 21, 2020 to discuss future collaborations.
5-Day Faculty Onboarding and Career Upstart Seminar for Newly Hired USTP System Faculty
November 6, 2020—the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL), in collaboration with the Human Resource Management (HRM), commenced the 5-day Faculty Onboarding and Career Upstart Seminar (FOCUS) which aims to give orientation and to equip the newly-hired faculty of the culture and technicalities of the working in the USTP ecosystem.
The 5-day seminar took on four aspects of the faculty’s employment life: the USTP culture, their professional responsibilities, their professional and career growth, and their transition towards CITL’s pedagogical training designed to enrich their instructional skills.
Design Thinking for Classroom Instruction for College of Technology CDO Campus
Last October 29, November 5&6, 2020, the Center for Innovative Teaching and learning (CiTL) held a 3-day training on Design Thinking for Classroom Instruction to the faculty of the College of Technology. The webinar aimed at not only using design thinking for social innovation but also to teach Design Thinking as a course. Moreover, the webinar included workshops on empathy, persona, and others. The participants were overjoyed at their new learning as they crafted various innovations and presented to the group.
Innovative Teaching Series: Sharing Flexible Learning Teaching Experiences Session 1
USTP instructors shared their innovative Flexible Learning Experiences to the USTP community last October 28, 2020 via Zoom Cloud Meetings application. Dr. Cordulo Ascaño, Engr. John Rey Bajuyo, Prof. Juliet Cagampang, and Mr. Giovanni Cagurin, shared their best practices in conducting online lectures which effectively engaged students.
Continuous Quality Improvement with Vice Chancellors, Deans and Campus Directors
Improving the quality of programs ensures better and more skilled graduates. To assist the university in such endeavor, CiTL facilitated the Continuous Quality Improvement-Developing a CQI plan webinar last October 16, 2020 via ZOOM Cloud Meetings application and workshop in the afternoon facilitated by the various department chairs/deans.

USTP’s Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning responds to the call on extending its service to conduct trainings on Flexible Learning, together with the Commission on Higher Education and other leading HEIs of the region. We are doing this via Facebook Live starting July 13, 2020, then following the dates specified in this poster. Much of the topics we will tackle are those we have given on the previous trainings with the mid-year term faculty members. CITL Rolls Virtual Discussions on Preparation for the Resumption of Classes
From April 21 to 24, 2020, the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning ran a series of virtual discussions on Zoom Cloud Meetings with the different colleges of Cagayan de Oro Campus, the Claveria Campus and the satellite campuses of Jasaan, Oroquieta and Panaon, to tackle about the resumption of classes.

Chartering Mis Occ: CITL Reaches Panaon to Conduct DALM for USTP Oroquieta
Panaon, Misamis Occidental—CITL arrived at the Panaon Campus 10th of February in the afternoon at the Training Center to prepare for the conduct of its 3rd leg of the Designing Assessments of Learning and Methods (DALM) Training-Workshop for the 76 faculty members of both Oroquieta and Panaon Campuses on February 11 and 12, 2020.

CITL Strategizes Activity -Enriched 2020
Last January 29-31, 2020, CITL members, Dr. Amparo V. Dinagsao, Engr. Rojien V. Morcilla, Engr. Aileen A. Sieras, Engr. Lloyd Jhon B. Estampa, and Mr. Arvin E. Narvaza, had their three-day strategic planning at Chali Beach Resort and Conference Center. First day was scheduled for the budgetary planning of each program’s events and the crafting of the Project Procurement Management Plans. Second day was the highlight of the planning in which calendar plotting was done the whole morning followed by the presentations of programs and their respective services to the guests, in the afternoon.
CDO and Jasaan Joins First Leg of Designing Assessments of Learning and Methods
The first leg of the Designing Assessments of Learning and Methods Training-Workshop for year took place January 9 and 10, 2020. The training-workshop was participated by Cagayan de Oro and Jasaan Faculty members of various departments. Speakers were Dr. Amparo V. Dinagsao, CITL Director, and Engr. Rojien V. Morcilla, Program Head for Outcomes-based Education. First day focused on sessions and workshops 1 to 3 which reviews on the goals of assessment, the creation of course outcomes and intended learning outcomes, and the construction of the TOS. Faculty members were tasked to share what they have talked about and decided on the group regarding the goals of assessments, but for workshops 2 and 3, participants were set to do the workshops individually.
