Mentors and Mentee Converge for the First Ever Faculty Mentoring Session

“You cannot transit wisdom and insight to another person. The seed is already there. A good teacher touches the seed, allowing it to wake up, to sprout, and to grow.” Thich Nhat Hanh

Like a seed awaiting to be watered, the seed of innovation sprouts among the tenacious Design Thinking mentees from the College of Technology as they met with their mentor counterpart last April 12, 2021. The activity is designed to provide a venue for collegial mentoring--coaching sharing. Also, during this activity, both mentors and mentees determined how the Design Thinking can be applied in the teaching and learning activities in the courses and programs and also create the action plan.

Dr. Amparo Vedua-Dinagsao presided the Mentoring Session of Design Thinking on elaborating the mentoring-coaching for the faculty.

After the introduction, the mentors and mentee meet each other to talked about teaching experiences and how they apply the Design Thinking as a subject.

In the same way, ten (10) select faculty members who were part of the Advancing CDIO Training for CDO campus converge for their first Faculty Mentoring-Coaching session last April 15-16, 2021. The CDIO Champs move forward and ready themselves for a little shove from our CDIO Master Trainers.

During their first meeting, the CDIO champions concerned themselves with the various plans and activities on how they can utilize the CDIO concepts and strategies in their conduct of classes. Furthermore, these CDIO champions are envisioned to help in creating a culture of innovation in their respective programs and become mentors themselves to their other colleagues.

This Faculty Mentoring-Coaching Program sessions spearheaded by CiTL are a part of the CHED-IDIG Funded project, Establishment of the Center for Discovery and Innovation in Teaching and Learning.
